My 55 2dr Hardtop Belair with stock springs and I think stock rims currently has p205/75r15 tires. I would like to go with maybe 235/70r15 tires. My question is will they have enough clearance front and back and will it be okay to use the stock rims. Thanks for your comments.

Look at the 55-57 modified forum. There are a couple of tire size calculators.

I believe 235's are too wide for the stock rims. A quick google search shows the 235's should have at least a 7.5" rim.

Thanks for your input George a great help to me. Based on that information I will measure the rims which I think are 6 inch and go with 215 75r 15
