Anyone driving a TBI truck? I need some help with measurements. I'm trying to find a solution to a frayed TV cable. I have pictures and info here: https://www.chevytalk.org/fusionbb/showtopic.php?t...

I need is the distance from TV bracket to the TB stud from 700R4 trans. If the distance is close to 5 3/8", I can use TBI cable instead of a TPI stock cable. The difference between the two cable lengths is 5".

Measurement needed. Distance between stud and cable bracket. Not necessarily accurate. A rough measurement will do.

This may not help, but here is what my 1994 5.7 TBI w/ 4L60E trans looks like.

For me, the cable in question (I think) is attached to my cruise control module located on the firewall. The distance from the face of the bracket to the center of the TBI attachment is 6-1/2". But I'm not sure if we're looking at the same cable that you're asking about.

Oh, I just noticed you have a 700R4 trans. Not the same setup as me. Sorry.

Excellent! See the lower open hole on the first picture. TBI / 700R4 setups use the hole for a TV cable. Can you measure from bracket open hole to the center hole on the lower TB side plate? The measurement should let me know if my truck setup can use a TBI 700R4 cable. THANKS!!

Face of bracket to center of lower hole in TBI is 4-7/8".

Now i'm confused. I've got a 4l60e on a 92 k1500 and my tv cable comes from where the opening in your bracket is to the open bottom hole.

Your 1992 has a 4L60, not a 4L60E. His 1994 is a 4L60E and has no TV cable - just the leftover opening in the bracket for one.

And of course, "E" indicates electronically controlled.

rittercon, thanks so much! The measurement is perfect! The slide will give enough WOT adjustment for my setup. Now I’ll look for a GM original TBI 700R4 cable. A stock cable will not have an adjustable end. A crimped end will end frayed cable problems.

Does anyone know the factory part number? I tried one but ended up being a TPI number. Plus they sent me an adjustable end cable. I want one that is true TBI and has a crimped end.

Is it also known as a Detent Cable?

Yes. Detent cable for 350TH and 400TH transmissions. TV cable for 700R4. All the same either way.
A GM website has a TBI/700R4 cable as #25521268. I'm be looking for that part number.

Just a side note, summit will beat anyone's price. Usually by like 25 cents but it's something. Either call or use the chat. I like summit because I always get it the next day. I'm not an Amazon user, but from what I hear, they have fast shipping too.

The only thing somewhat stock in my truck is the interior. I've got a C-4 swap with a 4l60e transmission, (which I just had rebuilt) aluminum edelbrock intake, heads, valves and covers, comp cam, lifters, and shorty headers with true duals and no cats or governor. 🤫
