I always had a soft spot for the early chrome-bumper C3's but I know little about them. I'm thinking 68/69. Can you guys give me your thoughts on these cars? What I should look for, what are some trouble spots, what options are more desirable...etc.

Any insight would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Carl

That was a good video - thank you for that. I'm in the early "learning" stage. Need to sell a couple cars before I can start a serious hunt, but I want to do my research.

So far it seems like the car I want is a 69. If the info I've read is correct, it seem that they worked out some of the bugs from the first year C3, but its before the serious government regulations started kicking in.

Think I'll track down a copy of that book he mentions in the video. This will NOT be an impulse buy! :D

Nice video and some good advice.

When I bought my C3 (1970 roadster), I contacted a local judge from the NCRS(National Corvette Restorers Society) and he joined me in examining the car I eventually bought. It got picked over with a fine tooth comb. But in the end I knew this car was right for me. So you might want to contact these guys and see if one of them from your area could also offer some additional pointers. Who knows, they may even know of a couple good examples to check out.

Good luck with your hunt.

IM NOT ASSOCIATED WITH THIS ESTABLISHMENT,BUT DO DO BUSINESS WITH THEM.THIS 70 RECENTLY CAME IN.

LOOKS MOSTLY ORIGINAL.THE LT1 IS A PLUS,THE 4SPD,THE ROADSTER WITH HARD TOP.TILT TELESCOPIC,SMOG INTACT,DIST SHIELDING, ALL ADD VALUE.BOUT THE ONLY THING I CAN SEE IS THE DR SEAT NEEDS SOME ATTENTION & I WOULD CHECK THE TRIM TAG FOR THE MAROON PAINT.IF IT HAD AC THE VALUE WOULD GO UP.
