So I recently had intake off and found one of my lifters was broke clip was off and top piece was dis connected from lifter. I replaced it. Put everything back together. Runs like a champ idles amazing sounds amazing . My misfire was gone. Now when I drive once the engine heats up or I get about 2 miles I start hearing a ticking sound . It is not noticeable at low speed or at hard acceleration. Just at cruising speed with a light throttle . 45 mph. If I take foot off gas at 50 mph it stops. I have adjusted all rockers numerous time with engine running . All seems well just the tick is driving me crazy . Will a mismatched lifter do this. Cam and lifters are a couple years old and have less than 6000 miles. Any ideas?. Thanks fellas as always for any ideas . Suggestions or knowledge. Joe. I tried additives . Thicker oil etc. I bought a new header gasket kit but doubt that’s it. Will put on this weekend

I never had it happen but it sure could be a mismatch. Did you check your push rod, rocker arm and stud. Could be another one getting ready to launch hard to tell from this point ,what brand of lifters? Could be an exhaust gasket

Since the noise stops when you take your foot off of the gas, I would be inclined to at least check out the fuel pump. I use a long screw driver placed on the pump with the handle held to my ear while the engine is idling. Speed the engine up and listen for any noise coming from the pump. It is important to be very careful if you do this.
