For the C8 Corvette, Motor Trend focuses on the powertrain and interior, and believes that pricing of the mid-engine Corvettes will start at $70,000 with future high-performance models ranging upwards of $140,000. As far as the “What’s Not” section, Motor Trend says the 6.2L pushrod V8 will remain as does a removable Targa top.

IF no soft top I would lean toward frame may twist w/o the fixed roof that stiffens the car.

Mel,
Take a good hard look online for how the corvette frames are made these days. Nothing like the past...They don't flex...with or without a roof. They are a water-formed and fabricated aluminum work of art and engineering masterpiece for sure.

I wouldn't worry about flex. I'd bet the A and B pillars are also so strong they would protect you in a rollover. As long as you are wearing the seatbelt.

Can't wait to see a real one out on the road tearin' it up.

Where would a soft top or an articulating convertible fold into? There is an engine back there now.

THis is the best they could do.

With the length and laid back angle of the A I think it could fold down. Agree on the B.
I remember when the hydro formed frame rails were first used in the C5s. They were 4 or 5 times stronger than the C4s and that blew my mind.
I was talking with two guys who run a lot of Solo 1(85 mph and up) as I recall. They are waiting to see how they do b4 buying but are chomping at the bit.
Side item, about a year or so did you have a red sw on Craigslist?
