Just replaced a bad battery and alternator on my 2002 Silverado 5.3L Voltage is 14.2, right where it should be. However the battery light comes on intermittently. Battery posts are clean, everything is good and tight. What would cause the light to do this?

Which brings the recommendations to use a good store for the refurbished parts, and, use a store that has an off vehicle electrical tester to test the replacement before leaving the store, let it run, give it a good test, all the way up to operating temperatures.

Not bad advice.

Personally I just bought a new AC Delco alternator for my truck when my old one was acting up. A little more $ for new but less chance of headaches down the road.
