Does any one carry the metal, made to fit, door edge guards for 1965 Impala ss. I had them on my original car and would like a set for the one I have now. Just don't care for the plastic, one size fits all. I've looked but haven't came up with any. I thought maybe some one has a set in their stash. Thanks Gary

Gary, they were impossible 25+years ago buddy. 986106 is the accessory number you need. I have 3 NOS LH ones, but no rights. If you find a pair, be prepared to spend 200-250

Donny, bummer, would you be interested in selling one LH. Never know, I may turn up a right. I have asked about some strange parts on this site, and low and behold I have gotten all that I requested. It just takes patience. Thanks for the info. Let me know about one. Thanks Gary. Donny your have one turn it in to $$$$.

I have a used set on a 4 door sedan.
Don't know if they would work on a hardtop though!

Ever since I bought my car I've noticed outrageous asks for the Chevrolet door edge guards even though I've seen Corvair, Chevy II, and Chevelle sets go for as cheap as $20 to $50 on the high end.
In comparison, there's a lot less of those cars produced so I'm not subscribing to Chevrolet being so much more expensive.
The more cars made, the more accessories made is the way I see it.

65s seem to be a 'one year wonder' when it comes to certain parts.

i second that... i would go as far to say MOST parts of this redesigned b body are one year only.

That is EXACTLY correct!!LOL!

I saw these at a swap and HAD to have them. Goes along with my attempt to fit the car with every option I can find.
Paid more than I want to admit however....

Never got around to installing them yet. I always look for other cars to have them ,but haven't seen any.

Not posting here to sell but had to agree with Donny NOT CHEAP and very hard to find!

You can subscribe to whatever you like. I've been buying and selling NOS stuff for almost 40 years now, and have a 5,000 sq. ft. building full of the stuff. The realization is they were impossible 30 years ago, and are almost non-existent today. I had 2 pair at Carlisle (first pairs I've had in 15 years) 3 weeks ago, and they both sold on Wednesday for $250/pr.

Im pretty sure I have a pair of these ... If still interested, I will go into the attic of my garage and see if I can locate them. They came off a 66 Caprice, but I am almost certain the doors are identical.
