1955 Chevy for Sale
Project Car in progress. Planned to be a nice comfortable driver/cruiser, not a show queen. Frame off, body work done, in paint. Lost interest, need the space. Lots of photos and receipts.
Chassis: Frame sandblasted primed and painted matte black. All suspension parts removed, sandblasted, powdercoated gloss black or painted. All bushings replaced with graphite polyurethane bushings. Earl Williams motor mounts, trans tail mount, and rear shock cross brace. New leaf springs, new KYB gas shocks. Two-inch dropped spindles in front. Heavy front sway bar.
Engine: 1996 LT-1 from a Pontiac Firebird (approx. 30,000 miles). LT-4 hot cam installed with Crane Gold race rockers. Head runners port-matched and smoothed, valves and seats ground. Chrome Chevy Performance valve covers. Sanderson cast headers. Accessories include new 140amp alternator, new McGaughy’s power steering (605 box) and pump with remote reservoir, and a/c (not included).
Trans: 4L60E (4 speed auto) from same 1996 Pontiac Firebird
Body: floor pans replaced with stamped repro panels from CARS Inc., other misc sheet metal and braces replaced, all body rust removed and replaced with new metal.
Wiring harness converted to 4-wire for simple hook-up to starter and ignition. ECM needs to be re-programmed.
Parts include:
• Aluminum cross-flow radiator and a/c condenser installed with new crossmember, alum catch can.
• Custom large capacity stainless steel fuel tank by Rock Valley with internal fuel pump.
• Polished stainless steel fuel lines on passenger side frame rail.
• Brakes: Power Front disc, rear drum, new wheel cylinders and hardware, new braided steel flex lines at front. Chrome 9” booster with CPP master cylinder w/ internal prop valve.
• Rear End: original, stock 3.55 gears, new axle bearings.
• Steering column: flaming River tilt, column shift.
• American Autowire updated wiring harness.
• Battery planned for trunk mount, solenoid installed in trunk.
• Original seat frames. Rear is good, front needs some work.
• Original 1956 Chevy AC vents
• All stainless trim and molding included.
• Headlights, taillights, bezels, door handles. (some new bezels and emblems).
• Lokar gas pedal
• Lokar oil dipstick
• Front and rear glass rubber
• New bumper brackets
Needs: battery, wiring installation including ground wires, brake lines rear to MC and front to MC, e-brake, heater hoses, underdash heater-a/c unit, a/c compressor, drier, lines, Glass, Exhaust system, Driveshaft, Audio system, insulation, carpet, upholstery (complete interior). ECM re-program. Bumpers need rechrome. Maybe a few other minor items.
Car was purchased in Idaho from a relative and never registered in California. Clean Idaho title in hand.
