Anyone know how to install a 60 Impala trunk lid by yourself.
I don't have any friends that can help me and I'm to poor to take it to the shop.

On my 57,I use 2 pieces of allthread.
Put one in on each side of the lid at the front.
Set the lid on the hinges(with the hinges up).
While holding the lid up,put 2 nuts on the allthread to hold the lid.
Now put the 2 bolts in the other holes, then change the allthread out to the other 2 bolts.
Mike.

Hanging the latch end from ratchet straps to your garage rafters, engine hoist, etc. may help, too...obviously, if your paint is fresh you'll want to carefully protect any edge of it that the strap might contact. Having an extendable hood prop rod tool to keep the trunk lifted while you attach fasteners can be helpful. Thick moving blankets draped over the quarters will protect the paint at the trunk opening and trunk lid edges. I used these same basic steps to install a freshly painted hood onto an also freshly painted truck, by myself. Didn't have the hood prop rod tool at the time so I used a long handle sledgehammer.

I was going to suggest the all-thread method as well.
