I have truck that the rear end was changed to a Dana 60 with 4 inch axle tube the leaf spring bottomplate is in bad shape havinga hardtime finding a new bottom plate. Last time this happened I had to do a u bolt flip and put a plate on top of springs. Any idea where to a bottom plate?

Probably going to have a hard time sourcing those. Wrecking yard is likely the only option, if you can find good ones.

The U bolt flip kit is really the better option. I've done it as well on the smaller axle diameters. Eliminates the rust/rot issue altogether.

These guys have kits for a 4" Dana axle;

I agree.
It is just better to do the reverse shackle kit.
In my area they usually just crumble as you try to get them out

Reverse shackle.....as in put the shackle on the front of the leaf vs. the rear? In the Jeep world (CJ/YJ) reverse shackle refers to just that with the front...putting the shackle to the rear of the front leaf and the fixed eye at the front.

Or, are you referring to shackle flip?

Neither. I guess the proper wording he should have used would be "U-Bolt flip". See the pictures...

Gotcha...kinda figured.

The OEM design with all sorts of pockets and hiding places for salt/mud is a huge fail....

….for those of us where rust in an issue. It not only eats the brackets and U-bolts, but it eats into the housings axle tubing as well...
