56 two door front 3 piece stock bench seat.
If the seat bottom is bolted in to the floor, can you put the 2 seat backs in place?
Meaning with the bench seat bottom installed in the car, can you attach the seat backs?
Or is the steering wheel in the way on the driver side?
I ask because I have taken this 3 piece bench seat in and out more than one too many times by my self,
it is heavy and not much fun.
Thanks

What is used at the hinge pin on the outer side?
Is it a simple "C" clip? What size is it?
What I took off did not make it through my removal process.
Once again thanks

Yes, it's a simple C clip. See page 130:

Ace hardware may have them or even Home Depot.
I think you can remove the backs in the car.

I have a stock ‘55 sedan and taking the seat backs off is the only way I can get the front seat out by myself. The last time I had the seat out I primed and repainted the mounting rails so it can be done tho I will have to admit I don’t remember how. I live right here in Clear Lake by Ellington Field off of Space Center. Let me know if I can help.
