I've been working on this car for almost 2 years and finally to the point of putting in the replacement windshield. The windshield in the car is broke from the hood flying open on the previous owner however the car came with a used windshield all wrapped up in a blanket. Today I removed the old windshield and got out the replacement one and put it out on the table and discovered they are different. I replacement windshield is about an inch taller than the one in the car. So my real question now is where do you all get your windshields from. I am on a real budget so this is a real setback for me now. My body style is 1008. I don't know what my windshield fits but it is available if someone needs it. Thanks

Why? Because my mom had one when I was little.

You probably have a windshield for a styleline.

I bought all my glass from, https://www.autocityclassic.com/. The guy I talked to on the phone seemed to be very knowledgeable, and friendly with my questions. If you want to convert to a one piece windshield, he new which windshield I needed. I don't know anything about their shipping, as they were less than 90 miles from me, so I picked up the glass myself. At the time they also stocked reasonably priced windshield gaskets too. No doubt you will need a new one.

I found mine at a junk-yard. I got really lucky; 100 bucks.

Where do you measure to get 15-3/4"? Mine original measures 16-1/2' at the straight edge in the middle and the too big one measures 17-1/2". Am I measuring wrong?

I got the measurement from the restoration packet. I believe it is at the center but now that you say that your measurement does not match what the packet says, I believe now that it is the measurement from top to bottom at the center but on a 45 degree angle. I've got a broken Fleetline windshield and will double check what it measures.

UPDATE: I measured mine and it is about 16-1/2" at the center so I assume now that the 15-3/4" is in fact the perpendicular measurement to the cowl with the window at the angle of installation. Sorry if that measurement caused any confusion.

Hi Guys, Just to add another dimension to this discussion about ordering glass.

As well as the difference that comes from the Fleetline and Styline models, there is a third variation that is unique to the Convertible and Bel Air models.
The screen and all glass is shorter by about 2" and unigue to these two. Essentially they are fractory chopped. This applies from 49 for the convert and 50 for the Bel Air, when the Bel Air designation changed from a model to a trim level.
