Hey everyone, been a long time since I've been on here, but I have a 57 that my dad and I have stripped down done all the body work and is primered and ready for paint. What kind of paint do you all recommend these days? Brand wise I know PPG is good but being out of the paint game for a long time would like to know what's the latest and greatest. I know it's a fairly vague question but any and all info is helpful. Thanks!

Most paint you will get these days will be urethane. You can get waterborne basecoat, but the techniques for spraying it and the equipment needed to successfully spray it are much different than for solvent based paints.

I used NASON base/clear on my restoration. It's the less expensive brand from DuPont,or what ever they call the company now I sprayed 3 coats of base AND clear. I recommend you also use their primer as well.Don't want to mix up other brands, some don't agree with other chems. they use.
It's available at Parts Plus or US Auto.

Hope you used 2k primer.

As said most paint today is 2k urethane. Lacquer and enamel are dinosaur deals. Don't paint your car with them.
