Can a 14awg be connected to a 16awg. 14awg is constant feed, 16 the load

You can connect different gauge wires, but the smaller wire still has to be large enough to handle the current running through it. So if the 16 gauge is the factory installed wire for what you are connecting to the 14 gauge wire, it should be fine.

Yes, they can, but I'm wondering why. Does the load need a 14 gauge?
Is the constant feed, fused? If not, you could connect them through a in line fuse to protect the 16 gauge.
