I’m trying to remove steering wheel in an attempt to get the gauge/speedometer cluster out. I can’t get by first step of removing the horn cap. The manual says to ‘pry’ it off. Well, using two medium size pry bars and putting as much pressure as I dare, it won’t budge. Does it indeed ‘pry off’ or twist and turn, or a hidden fastener? Thanks.

There is a hole in each spoke with a clutch head screw (if they are original) holding the cap on.

What Don said. You might try a mirror to see the screw heads, so you know what driver to use.

Thanks guys. I found the two clutch head screws. Thank goodness you are more informed than the shop repair manual and the factory assembly manual. I’ve worked on a lot of different old cars (Packard, Studebakers, etc.). The information is sometimes somewhat sketchy but just flat wrong like these chevy manuals, never.
