Yeah, where is the so called "pack racing" or drafting from the new rules package? At Atlanta they blamed it on the slick track that hasn't been repaved in 20 years. At Vegas they had it during one qualifying session (kind of) but I didn't see it in the race today. You didn't see it in the experiment in Charlotte last year and you won't see it again as the track temperatures increase.

Looks to me like all they did was plant the back end of the car with the big spoiler and the power reduction from the restrictor plate. So now all the cars are tight because the front downforce doesn't match the rear. And the same teams that were running the best last year are the same ones running the best now.

And those poor Hendrick Chevys are still running 15th-20th. RCR Chevys were good in qualifying but couldn't race.

Ellott can't catch a break, I have the races on in the background but rarely sit and watch.

He doesn't need a break, he needs a better car, just as his teammates do.

I couldn't agree with you more on that! If it was a couple of Chevy teams having trouble running with the furds and yotas you could say they just haven't caught up but when none of the Chevy teams can hang with them, well there's a for sure disparity.

One of the few times I have watched in recent years and Kyle put on a show. Wow, him at speed in traffic after the penalty. I wonder if his spotter was able to keep up with some of his moves.

Well everyone got excited about Hendrick Chevys qualifying 123. And Johnson led some laps early, given the head start of the pole. But after he lost the lead, he never contended again, though he and Byron did get back to the top 5. They have more work to do.

It was a screwy race, that early caution made for two sets of strategy from then until almost the end.

In the end it was no new winner, only 2 Gibbs and 2 Penske cars have won.

I think this new package is favoring different drivers due to their driving style except for shrub who can drive anything to the front.

That last race in Texas was a yawner for sure...except for the in-the-grass pass that Kyle put on his bro Kurt. :-)

Other than that, I was hoping a Hendricks car might finish at the front. But that obviously didn't happen...

Well it wasn't quite the original "pass in the grass" but it was pretty dang good.

Thanks.

Maybe I should watch all my races on youtube. That video was pretty much the whole race, including the part I missed.

So who's the kid in your little gif? Son/nephew of a Hendrick or Ganassi team member? Or a Stewart/Haas team member?

Everyone who's not Kyle Busch should be disappointed at this point, except maybe Hamlin or the Penske guys who can be only mildly disappointed.

For the Chevys, it's one thing to be outrun on the 1.5 mile tracks, that's finesse or speed secrets. To be outrun everywhere means you just behind on everything.
