Hi Everyone... Im Croix.. Im new to the chevy talk website.. I have a 1974 Monte Carlo, Landau 400 engine. I have replace the power steering pump, but I cant seem to get it to sit properly... there is a bracket attached to the block near the manifolds, but am I missing a spacer or something?? Im enclosing pics.. If anyone can send me some pics of what its supposed to look like, i would appreciate it.. Its confounding me, as it should have been a simple switch in and out, but now the pulleys are at an odd angle and I cant find any references in any manuals about placement... Thanks in advance... Croix

Did you just get another pump with the brackets already on it or did you switch the brackets from your old pump to the new one? If it had brackets already on it, make sure they match your old ones. GM switched water pump design somewhere in those years and also changed the brackets. I remember years ago my neighbor got the wrong water pump at the parts store and his power steering pump wouldn’t bolt up to it. That was on a ‘76 Impala.
