Could it be a dealer emblem. There is a Victor Chevrolet in Rochester, NY.

No sir it is a side emblem for hood or fender. The Chevrolet script is on top and is in cursive ( chrome ) and the bottom is black background with " Victor " chrome and in block letters it is all one piece with the 3 mounting studs on back. thanks for your reply. I am thinking this is a 1 to 2 ton truck.

Hi Whiskey, can you post a picture of the emblem?
Does it have a GM numeric part number on the back?

Cheers Kiwi

I'm gonna add some fuel to the fire here and bolster wagonman100's assertion. Looking at the image below, One could easily arrive at the conclusion that there was actually a Chevrolet Viking model plying the streets at one point in time. However, in actuality, Viking was a Chevrolet Dealership in Minneapolis, MN.

Hum...ya got me there Dave...Viking Chevrolet AND a VIKING Truck. Obviously a 1960 model truck. Maybe other years as well. I didn't see that verbiage used anywhere in the 1960 brochures although if you look closely, you can vaguely see it on the sides of the truck. Maybe the VICTOR was the Canadian truck?

From Wikipedia concerning 1960-66 truck models:

Actual badging on Chevrolet trucks carried the series name system from the previous generation for 1960 and 1961: the 10, 20, 30, and 40 series (C and K) were badged as "Apaches", 50 and 60 series trucks were badged as "Vikings", and the largest 70 and 80 series models were marked "Spartans".

I skimmed through it quickly but didn't see the word "VICTOR" anywhere:

I remember the Vikings and Spartans, but never heard of a Victor. I would love to see a picture of it.
