"John Haynes, the entrepreneur and creator of the Haynes Manual, founder of the Haynes Publishing Group PLC and the Haynes International Motor Museum passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, on the evening of Friday 8th February, aged 80, after a short illness. John was a kind, generous, loving and devoted husband, brother, father and grandfather, who will be missed enormously."

Wow! I always wondered how Haynes manuals were started.

I think I've got 12-15 of them for different makes and years. Every time a friend or family member wanted their car worked on, I'd tell them to buy a manual first.

I've got a few of those manuals also. The most prized is a 62-67 Nova/Chevy II Manual. It even has ALL of the wiring schematics! I bought it when I had my 63 Chevy II, model 300 Wagon, Street Racer (nasty word there). That car gave a lot of Z-28 Camaro, and Mustang 5.0 owners a lot of grief/embarrassment. Beat up old Wagon that sent them on their way, 25 years ago. Sold the body to a friend, who wrecked it; I did't even get the 4.88 Positraction/Dutchman axles back as promised; end of friendship. He sent it all to the wreckers. I am Butch/56sedandelivery.
