Any chance a Lincoln owner can explain the power seat “auto glide” feature? I have reupholstered 98 Lincoln Mviii power seats for my 56. I found a post from 2004 where John inquired about the same seats for his 55 Chevy. This article has been of great assistance as bench testing I can power, the seat height, tilt and seat support functions. I just haven’t been able to move the seat tracks forward and back on the seat tracks. And, been denied access to the Lincoln owners forum to ask this question. Either, I haven’t located the magic glide wire or the glide function only glides with someone in the seat. Or them Lincoln guys know I am a Chevy guy... just checking here as I continue my search. Thanks in advance.

I think the Auto Glide function is probably a memory seat function. If it is you may need the "brain" that goes with it. JMHO.

Looks to me, there's a "control module" involved. -1...

Thanks Old Buzzard!

Every web search, has led me nowhere, just ads. Will bookmark the manual site for future reference.

The other Lincoln site references two ways to accomplish this the easy way with processor, and another less easy way involves a handful of large and small relays. I remain hopeful that this processor is in the seat, as I sure think I see something that looks like a processor. Or, a trip to JY.

Again thank you
