My old Tech II is not able to keep up with my two newer vehicles ( 2014 Sierra and a 2015 Colorado).
Looking for a reasonably priced ( hobbyist grade tool), preferably for all domestic makes, tool or pc based setup. Any recommendations?

I have this and use it every day. https://www.autoenginuity.com/ Good coverage and data. It also has "some" programing capabilities. I bought it loaded with domestic and Asian, skipped European so I have an excuse not to work on them. Updates are cheap as well.

just a question, if I read that correctly you buy a tool and if you have lets say a GM, FORD and CHRYSLER, you need the
$250 tool
and
three software packs?
FORD $200
GM $230
CHRYSLER $230

TOTAL $910

or the bundle for $800

I agree grumpy. That sounds like a lot of money for an occasional/hobby use.

So I can plug this adapter into my windows 10 laptop and it will connect to the blue driver device? I like it! Much easier to read the big screen.

Must have been a Chinese tech II if you are bitcjin about the price. There is a difference between a diagnostic tool and a code reader. I miss understood.

I ordered the Bluedriver and the Bluetooth adapter. Installed the adapter on my PC, but couldn't get the APP to load. Contacted Blue Driver and they told me that this setup won't work. I would need to obtain an android emulator. So options are to return the Bluedriver or load an emulator. The blue driver tech stated that they wouldnt be able to provide much support if I go the emulator route. I found several emulators so I will do some research to see if they really work well.

Just to close this thread, I tried a couple of PC android emulators and was less than pleased. Finally, I decided to return the blue driver and wait until I upgrade my phone or get a standalone device. Thanks for the advice.

thank you for posting your experiences, as its sure to help others,
I would point out that many people won,t deal with that,
as a good many phones and cars are blue tooth linked.
I have several friends now that are using that bluedriver and are happy

In case someone has a Dodge, Chrysler, Ram, or Jeep, I found this interesting. Features to turn on/off programming.
