Tire problem on my 57 Nomad, I put on a new set of Goodrich Touring TAs in 2010. 9 years and 3900 (yes 3900) miles later both front tires(215/60x15) have bulges on the tread surface. Tire shop lined up the front at purchase and again in 2015 preparing for a road trip. Always kept pressure at 32 psi on 15x7 Budnick rims. I know I am the past the average life of a tire but it still bothers me that with so few miles the tires are self destructing.
AM I EXPECTING TO MUCH?

It shouldn't happen but some tires do that.

I had it happen on two not very old tires on my daily driver pickup a few months ago. One went while I was on a road trip, the other a week later. Broken belts.

I don't think that broken belts are necessarily from age alone.

Get some new tires and move on.

It’s the years not the mileage.

9 years on tires is pushing it. regardless of the low mileage you put on them. Especially vulnerable at high speed. Get new tires and move on.

Drive it more and you wouldn't feel so bad about replacing the tires.
