Buyer beware when buying a Denso oxygen sensor from Rockauto. They consider it a “wear part” and will not warranty it at all. Other parts stores around here warranty the same sensor for a year. I bought one from them five months ago and they won’t do anything - “wear part”. Learned my lesson. From now on I’ll pay a little more and deal with someone I can look in the eye. Read all the fine print if you buy from them. If you don’t, it may cost you.

In a way they could be right. Coolant leaks can damage the sensor as well as too rich a fuel mixture and some fuel additives. I am not agreeing with their policy but I can see their thinking.

Does that Denso sensor have a warrantee offered for that product? If so, Denso would be the people to contact, not Rock Auto.

Many electrical components don't have much of a warranty and haven't for some time.

That said, there should be a difference between a part that's defective in the box vs. one that works but not very long. Not that not working long is good either, but never working with no relief just sucks.

you posted the same baseless CRAP in a duplicate thread
NO VENDOR ANYWHERE will warrant an oxygen sensor youve used for 5 months , rockauto and any other vendor is well within their rights and any reasonable persons expectations

  • Quote:

very few companys warrantee any sensor or electrical component once its been installed,
simply because they have zero control over the install or running conditions.
certainly most will not past 30 days ,
I,ve purchased thousands of dollars of parts from rockauto
service is fairly fast, and provided you read carefully and don,t shop using the ;lowest price option you generally get decent value.
under the conditions and time frame stated I don,t think they are being unreasonable.
a leaking fuel injector, improper installation, a leaking head gasket oil or coolant contamination, detonation, improper fuel pressure use of E85 (ethanol) and several other factors will kill any oxygen sensor in a very short time

IF YOU CAN,T SMOKE THE TIRES AT WILL,FROM A 60 MPH ROLLING START YOUR ENGINE NEEDS MORE WORK!!"!
IF YOU CAN , YOU NEED BETTER TIRES AND YOUR SUSPENSION NEEDS MORE WORK!!

When I worked a parts counter a number of years ago we would not even take a part back if it was removed from the box. That applied to electrical only.
