Be very very aware of parts you buy from Rockauto, as to warranty. Rockauto won’t warranty a Denso oxygen sensor that went bad in 5 months time. They say it’s a “wear part” and that’s that. They don’t seem to care about customer service. Other parts stores have the exact same part and carry a one year warranty. Denso says they won’t warranty it because Rockauto isn’t an authorized dealer. Try to contact Rockauto, very hard. Email is about it and you get a different person responding each time with what appears to be their stock response. Sensor is for my daughters car and she definitely can’t afford to pay another $200.00 for the sensor and labor to install it. Rockauto’s warranty is nonexistent. If you buy anything from them, you better read all their fine print. Another case of buyer beware. I’ll never buy anything from them again and urge members here to be very diligent reading the small print of your purchases. I didn’t read their warranty information and got burned for it. Hope this keeps you from doing likewise.

very few companys warrantee any sensor or electrical component once its been installed,
simply because they have zero control over the install or running conditions.
certainly most will not past 30 days ,
I,ve purchased thousands of dollars of parts from rockauto
service is fairly fast, and provided you read carefully and don,t shop using the ;lowest price option you generally get decent value.
under the conditions and time frame stated I don,t think they are being unreasonable.
a leaking fuel injector, improper installation, a leaking head gasket oil or coolant contamination, detonation, improper fuel pressure use of E85 (ethanol) and several other factors will kill any oxygen sensor in a very short time

This is from the RockAuto site and at the bottom of the description for a Denso Oxygen Sensor. Bold markup is mine. It would appear that the person in question did not read the warranty information at all.

DENSO Warranty Information:
12 months on A/C Evaporator Cores, A/C Compressors, A/C Compressor Clutches, A/C Condensers, Radiators, Fuel Injectors, Fuel Pumps, Fuel Tank Sending Units, Ignition Coils (COP), Alternators, Starters, and Mass Air Flow Sensors.
Parts subject to normal wear and tear are not covered
(Filters, Ignition Wires, Oxygen Sensors, Spark Plugs, Wiper Blades, etc.). IMPORTANT A/C COMPRESSOR WARRANTY NOTE: In order to ensure that proper warranty credit is issued if needed, the compressor installation instructions must be adhered to. All compressors returned for defect must show proof of purchase of an A/C Orifice Tube (or A/C Expansion Valve), A/C Receiver Drier/Accumulator, and A/C System Flush or a Work Order showing the purchase of these items and that the system was flushed.

GM typically has a clause along the lines of "no warranty and no returns once opened" on the bag electrical parts are packaged in. So, this isn't an isolated case of bad warranty.

Also, RockAuto will only carry forward the warranty from the supplier of the part best case, or tell you to make the claim directly with the manufacturer worst case, so posting this is rather unfair to RockAuto when it's the supplier who isn't warrantying the part.

Call Denso directly. Maybe they'll do something for you. Maybe they'll send you a new one in return for the old one.
