I'm having front straight axle on my 53 1/2 ton pickup altered along with 57 Bel Air 2" drop spindles so I can put my 12.88" Wilwood disk brakes on it. This will be a driver and strip for fun (that's the best way). I will be running an 8" wide tall tire. I believe the blown 292 weighs less than the 235 even with the 4-71 blower. I have done some searching and some say positive and some say negative angle. Thank you for your time and advice.

More important is the caster angle for directional stability, camber close to zero should be ok for fixed suspensions. Try and get at least 3 degrees positive caster.

Hi Mick, The 292 isn't a lot lighter than the old 235. It may be a touch, but it is about the same as a SBC.

Rember this is a unique block from its sibling 230/250 designs. In part, this is because it has a much taller deck height, but it also may be a more solid design as it was always going in vans and pickups.

I don't have a 471 blower but picking up a 671 is not for the weak or frail.

I wouldn't be surprised if your blown 292 wasn't just a little bit heavier than stock.

Cheers Kiwi

I guess I was thinking about the 250. I hadn't thought about the taller deck on the 292. I did receive my wireless wheel scales today so when I finally get home in a couple of weeks I may have to weigh it. I have been working 550 miles from home for 6 months and not been able to work on my truck. I'm going to take the rest of the year off and hope to run drag week this fall. Thank you. I have a super special part coming from down your way maybe next month but can't talk about it yet. Going to be a game changer. Thank you for your time. I'm going to try to get down there next winter. You guys do some crazy stuff with 6's down there.
