I have a Bel Air Convertible with the X frame. My question is: Do you have to remove the Overdrive from the tranny to get the transmission out of the car?

The Muncie 318 3 speed is the same length as it's cousin, the Muncie 319 overdrive transmission. You really don't even want to think about trying to separate the OD from a transmission while it's still in the car. I currently have two of these Muncie 319 speed with overdrive transmissions, AND a couple of NEW, Hurst shifters for both the Muncie 318 and 319 transmissions available. I am Butch/56sedandelivery.

I found out today that you can remove the OD Trans. without removing the overdrive. Fixed the leak and reinstalled it and everything works fine. Thanks for answering.
