I working on 1948 Convertible. The canvass was removed from my top frame so i am "learning as I go" regarding, pieces, and install on this convertible top. I am installing an original metal, (split-frame inner and outer) backglass frame but do not know if there was originally a gasket or how the frame seals to the canvass. I am looking for anyone that has experience, wisdom, knowledge about this backglass install and more specifically, sealing it up. Pics might help if you have them. Any help is appreciated.

Check out www.1948chevy.com, great source for '48 convertibles. Dozens of detailed photos of individual parts and assemblies. Worth a look.

I dont know where you live, but I would love to help you since Im trying to install my 47 top on my car also. I have a generic GM manual that shows what youre talking about, I think. I dont have an old top to copy, but I have a new top and rear win apron, just dont know much other than what Ive been reading. I do know your side widows have to be finished & installed.
BTW, do you have a spare D/S rear win. regulator?
Thanks
bru

Thanks!

Yes, i have used 48Chevy.com for reference on my vent assembly and division bar. actually, i dont need info regarding quarter window, I've got that all sorted out, but rather i need general knowledge about how to seal the rear window in the canvas top. Thanks for the input. I will keep searching.
