Im ripping out all wiring from my blown 73 Laguna and doing a race car style re-wire. Battery is in the trunk and am installing a 10 circuit fuse box plus a bank of relays on the firewall. As the battery is in the trunk I'm going to power the fuse box from the starter. Here are my questions:

(1) what gauge wire should I use to power the fuse box from the starter? I'm going to run a wire from the starter to a bus bar, then to the fuse box.

(2) I plan on using a circuit breaker between the starter and fuse box to protect it...what amperage circuit breaker should I use?

(3) the fuse box will be hot all the time with this this acceptable?

(4) as the battery is trunk mounted is it acceptable to run the alternator charging wire to the starter via one of the studs on the bus bar thats connected to the starter. Is this adequate to charge the Battery?

The wire and circuit breaker size will depend on what is on the fuse box, electric water pump, size of electric fans, fuel pump current, etc.
Running the charge wire from the alternator will depend, if you have or need a kill switch for racing.
If the fuse box is hot all the time, you won't be able to shut off anything connected to the fuses by the ignition switch.

Thx,I did install a kill switch on the bumper for racing but I think I wired it wrong...when it's running it doesn't stop the engine but will shut down everything else. Got to figure this out. I suspect it's because currently the alternator wire is routed directly to the starter. As far as the fuse box, I think I can kill power to it by using the on/off toggle switch on the push button switch panel. Im running electric fans, electric fuel pump and maybe eventually an electric water pump so I'm thinking of using about a 200 amp circuit breaker before the fuse box. Im assuming its ok to run these components thru my fuse box?
