Are the ‘57 control arms the same as ‘55 and ‘56? Can ‘5 and ‘6 arms be used on a ‘7? I have some extra arms I was going to rebuild before installing.

Thank you. I know they went to 14” wheels so wanted to check before I redo the suspension.

1957 upper control arms are different from 1955-1956. The are cut different to make room for the 14 inch wheel and FATTER TIRES.
The 1955-56 arms were discontinued in parts are 1957s were sold for replacement
If 1955-56 arms are used with the 1957 wheels and tires the tires will rub.

I understood the ball joint was changed, not the arm. Group 6.164 in parts book.

Yes, the ball joints were improved for 1957.

Under front suspension.1957 passenger cars "Upper control arm is the same as the 1955 and 1956 arm EXCEPT that the outer horinzontal flange is trimmed to allow full wheel turn with 14 inch tires. The 1957 control arm can be used for 1955 and 1956 )replacement) service."

The 1955-1956 are was discontinued and 1957 arm replaced it .
1955-56 arms were part numbers 3727729-730, replaced 11-1-57 with 1957 part numbers 3733809 and 810.
