There is a vin # stamped into the top of the frame on driver side. It will be hard to see unless you pull body or open floor up. With the new cameras on phones you might get one that will get a photo

It will only be a partial VIN though. I think it will not have the trim designation or if your car was an original V8 or straight 6. It will maybe have the plant letter and sequential number for that plant. It is usually stamped more than once, but generally it is on top of the rail right about where the front seat is.

The full VIN will be Vx55ynnnnnn.

V is for V8, this position not used for a 6.

x = A,B, or C where A=150, B=210, and C=Bel Air

55 is the model year (could be 56 or 57 too)

y = letter code for the assembly plant

nnnnnn = sequence number for that assembly plant.

The partial VIN on the frame is

ynnnnnn.

It is stamped on the frame under the driver door, and again about 18" back from there.

The frame stamping is pretty faint sometimes, and can be hard to read depending on cleanliness, and what the metal finish is (bare metal, primer, paint), and especially lighting and angle of view. Being able to see it with a mirror with the body on the frame is almost impossible.
