Hi all!
I have an impala 1970 that i just got some new paint on :). Now i'm about to install the body moldings/trim. But on the front fenders... how is it supposed to reach to fasten the nuts for the trim clips? It can't be supposed that you should take out the inner fenders?
Is it possible to reach enough to mount all of the nuts if you take away the bent sheetmetal part far down in the rearest part of the wheel-well?

I took of the fenders and repaired them prior to the paintjob, and am not keen at all to take newly painted fenders off again.

Hope my English is readable... not my first language.

Hey Tobias. Nice intro. When I replaced fender moulding on my 69 after paint I had to remove a lot of inner fender bolts to get access to tighten nuts. Ps. Don’t tighten all till u line up with other trim. Have fun. Jim

You could always use two-sided tape. I used this to attach non-68 Impala SS emblems on my restomod 68 SS.

The clips did nut onto the fender. You could use barrel nuts in the holes and slide the original threaded studs into them. But, using the original speed nuts would be best.
