An update here----68-72 Chevy Truck blower and fan, do fit where old 6 volt was, but, you have to center the venturi, that is stamped into the firewall, because squirrel cage sits a little deeper than old one, or it will rub. I removed the air duct butterfly fixture from the firewall to eyeball this, before drilling and installing screws in fan motor. Edit---It takes Two People. PS- it does require a 1/4 " rubber spacer, between fan motor plate and stock heater box, to work right

Built a little garage for Chebby, and keep Her in it. Put Mig welder, Tool Boxes, Jack, Jack stands, Engine Lift, Engine Stand, Future Parts, Small Block, and Parts, Work Benches, Refrigerator, Computer, and Air Conditioner in Garage.
Started out under a Shade Tree, now have to take Her back under a Shade Tree, for room to work on her.

Georges Tip-#12---Go to Farm Store, and buy One running Foot of Horse Stall Mat, they have different thicknesses, 1/4", 1/2". Buy the 1/4", it is the handiest thing you can get for your 49-54 Chevy. I used it for Heater Fan Isolation, and Body, and Core Support Mounts. Got a 12" by 72" for $7.65.

Tried a pair of LED Headlights, for $84, they were shown as plug and play. Did not work, returned them. Ordered another set $114, listed as Plug and Play, did not work. Ordered a Pair for $148, sent them back, and reinstalled Sealed Beam Halogens, they work. Chebby is going out for a ride, this afternoon.

Thanks for the tip on the LED headlights, I was thinking about changing out my stock to LED. After reading your post I guess I'll go with the Halogen.

This is how Old Codgers work on their Chevy--Lay out Parts and Pieces, Jack up the Car, find some padding to lay on, get down under the Car, decide you need to take a bathroom Break, fix a Sandwich, go back look at the Car, Pick up Parts and Pieces, roll up the mats, take out Jack stands and Jack. Then set down, and look at the Car.

Finally got fed up with, Fifteen Minute warmups, backfiring, and driving with the choke pulled out, fouling the plugs. Dug out a stock intake, and exhaust, new intake sleeves, new carb spacer, and am searching all parts for two misplaced manifold washers. Drivability, and mild manners, were something I overlooked, and almost forgot.

Busted down, and bought new windshield and rubber for Chebby. Could not polish glass clean enough, and rubber was cracked every inch. Wanted to be sure, there was no rust under rubber, and garnish. Tommorrow will begin sanding and paint in pinchweld area. Ordered Green glass and rubber from Classic on Monday morning, and FED-Ex brought it on Wednesday afternoon.

My windshield was so unsafe driving into the sun, we couldn’t do late afternoon rides. I bought all new glass, except rear window, but have only changed windshield & sliders.

I do want to mention that I did have a problem getting the stainless trim to fit. The trim ends at the top were too short to fit under the center trim piece, They were ok on the bench, but not in the car. Most likely, the seal was too thick (Clesters seal). I ended up making a small stainless cover. It works, but I need to make a new cover with a better quality of stainless. This one has rusted.

Thought maybe I messed up rubber that I got from Classic, so ordered new from Chevy Restoration World, reinstalled, yesterday. 1/2" to far forward, center bottom. Got mad this morning, because bottom of windshield was not going back, put two blocks of 2x4, one on edge, another flat, on lower center rubber ratchet strap from door post to door post, tightened up, pulled bottom over pinch weld. Shazam
