Anybody have an image showing the proper placement of the holes for 396 fender flag emblems on a 67? Template or measurements?

On page 353 in the "1967 Chevrolet Full Size Car Factory Assembly Instruction Manual". Here is a picture of that page. Don't screw it up!! IMO, nothing worse than an emblem not in its correct place.
And now looking closely at the picture, it really does not give measurements as to actual placement of the emblem on the fender. Someone will need to measure an actual fender.

Excellent! Thanks you. Now I have to figure out where the '20' and '40' lines are. I agree! A misplaced emblem stands out like a sore thumb to me. That's why I'm searching for a definitive location such as the assembly manual image you provided. The 'SUPER' emblem on a 71-72 chevy truck is located incorrectly alot and seeing that drives me nuts!

Take a look here: https://www.chevytalk.org/fusionbb/showtopic.php?t...
Several PDF'd manuals for 67's, including the assembly manual.

I did tons of homework on this - my car had an inline 6 - no emblems...I wanted em right. You won't be able to determine the 0 datum line...I will add, the "V" or better yet - bottom of the V on any V8 car will be same placement as big block V flags. line up the bottom of the V and go to town...

Here's 3 pics - I got an actual template from a gentleman in WA state ( I'm in OK) he did a pencil rub of one fender and I just used same one both sides - outside of the sheet on actual side rendition and inside of the sheet on the other side. I'd be more than happy to do one for you and mail you one...pm me if you like. the holes on mine are exact - from a big block car. I already like you cuz youre as OCD as me... lol

Hey 9teen! That would be awesome if you could do a rubbing of the fender holes for me. I'll PM you my address. Coincidently, I'm in WA state where it originally came from.

I'd like to make a small correction to what has been stated here. The numbers inside the circles are the reference line measurements. From those lines, the measurements are given for the piercings.

On page 183 of the 67 AIM the "0" reference line location is shown, so the -40 indicates 40" in front of the 0 line.

The 20 line should be 20" off the floor if your car has standard ride height.

A tracing of the standard piercings are much easier to use.

If you go look in the 65-66 Reference Area, you'll find AutoCad drawings I made for those cars. They DO NOT apply to the 67 model year.
