Can someone post photos of 1964 OEM air cleaners and what they go on? I've seen photos of small and large snorkel opening air cleaners for bot 2bbl and 4bbl carbs.

This is an original air cleaner for a 283 2&4 barrel

No Jim, you need the long snorkel.

This is why I'm confused. I've seen a couple of restorations with the wide snorkel as well.

Jim, I bought a brand new Chevelle in 1964 and it had the one I showed you. Whether they had two different ones, I can't answer that.

I suppose the good news is that 99% of the engine photos I've seen show the long narrow snorkel.

That wide snorkel is 1959-61 2 or 4 bbl. 1962-3 looks similar to the 64-5, but has a round opening that is simply flared out, whereas the 64-5 has the extra welded bell inside that flared opening. No one reproduces the 62-3 air cleaner.
