I have this idea of putting a Holley GM TBI setup that i snagged of craigslist on an older 327 block. Aftermarket heads cam intake etc etc. Adapter plate for 4 barrel to GM TBI. Can anyone see a problem in his or is it essentially easy to do if you have a good understanding of tuning TBI? I'll update as the project goes on. I'm haggling the block next so if i'm making a mistake with the 327 block and crank....tell me.

It should work, but how hard it is depends on what you have. I have no idea what you mean by Holley GM TBI. Exactly what parts are Holley and what parts are original GM?

I started out with a Holley HP Throttle Body EFI and later converted it to a Multi port sequential EFI. Both worked great.

My brother has a TBI system running on a 327 in his '63 Chevy pickup, and it runs like a top. The engine has an RV cam and World Products 2.02 heads. Intake manifold is a stock 70's quadrajet manifold with the adapter plate from a Holley Pro-Jection setup. 15 years ago, we put a Holley Pro-Jection on it, but never got it to run quite right, even with the closed loop system. The stock TBI computer runs it much better. We also converted to serpentine setup, and everything runs well. I did go through the work and re-tuned the engine to fine tune everything. The engine ran well without changing the tune after a few hours of driving around town, so it's not absolutely necessary to burn a new PROM chip, but it helps. There are people online who will burn new chips for you, and the price is reasonable.
