Hey guys,
I've got a 04 1500 5.3 with a floor shifter for the 4wd. If I get a pushbutton 4x4 selector switch is there anyway I could use it for say off road lights? I don't have a schematic to see what the wires go to, to know if I can use the buttons or not. I just want to use them for switches. And id rather not spend 60 bucks, like this.....

I was just curious, any and all help is appreciated!!!

Since the buttons on the selector are not on/off, you probably couldn’t use them for turning things on and off. You would need the selector switch and a multi-meter to know for sure.

I would probably say they wouldnt work.
I do believe those switches work by resistance value.
So as you push each button it outputs a different resistance value that is supplied to the BCM.

The buttons will be momentary and you need on/off
If you are good at building electric circuits you can make some latching controllers and relays
If not buy that jegs panel or make your own
