The gas shut-off valve at the tank outlet on my 1937 Chevy car appears to have a slight leak.
I checked with Chevys of the 40s for a replacement and they only list a shut-off valve that connects the tank to the intermediate fuel line for a '49 to '54 truck that comes with a 3/8" threaded pipe that connects into the bottom of the tank.
Does anyone know the connection size on a stock 1937 Chevy? I don't want to take the old shut-off valve off until I know that I have the correct replacement parts.

The only 1937 car to have a shut-off valve is the business coupe due to the location of the tank.
It is 2 11/16" long,1/8" pipe and 1/2 - 24 threads, fit 1937-1939 coupes and sedandelivery.

Gene, That's most helpful. Do you know where I can purchase a replacement shut-off valve or can I just eliminate it?

Have you tried to tighten the packing nut?

My 1951 GMC (Canadian) 1 Ton has a similar shutoff on the bottom of the tank. The vendors that offer parts for those trucks sell the shut off valves.
