Hi all...

I need to change the wiring for the two accessory outlets so they will lose power when the ignition is turned off. Both stay hot at the moment; the radio stays on until a door is opened. What is the best location to tap?

Thanks

It may not be possible. Most functions are now ECM controlled. Options have to be programmed off. Do you have a wiring diagram? Does the owners manual have an option to turn it off? What's the other accessory temporarily on? You can wire it to a relay and fuse box ignition option.

No diagram. Nothing in the owner's manual that shows the ports can be reconfigured. The only thing that stays on when the ignition is switched off is the radio, which goes off when the door is opened.

Ok, it's probably ECM controlled. My Dodge Nitro has the same option. The radio stays on until it times out (usually 1 min) or a door is opened. Mine has a TIPM (totally intergrated power module). I'm not familiar with GM same version.

Do you mean the radio stays on all the time?
I found some quick info: Go to Post #20.

A simple fix might be the door jam switch. Check it.
