Hi
Could someone please show me a photo of their ground or earth straps that mount either side of the radiator? I think they should also loop across to the headlamps.
This is for a 63 283 engine
Thanks
Dan

Your post is confusing. The radiators were not grounded. There were ground leads from the front wiring harness to the radiator support though. Here's an example on a '62. There's one on each side.

The negative battery post has a wire that grounds to one of the radiator/shroud bolts

ONLY on a '64 Chevy is there an extra ground wire that goes from the negative battery connector to the radiator SUPPORT (NOT under a shroud bolt)
The radiator itself was NEVER grounded.

If you're looking at a car that was wired that way, then that car was mucked with.

Thanks Verne.
I'm trying to work out whats correct for my 63.
It does have an earth connected to the right side of the radiator shroud, under the bolt, but I don't think this is correct. Also when I look in the manual it shows an earth connection on the wiring diagram either side of the radiator coming from the left and right headlights. I was hoping to get a picture of a vehicle where it is still correct so I could copy the connections

If you look at the photo I posted above, you can see the ground lead attached to the outer edge of the radiator support. It's at the same place on the right side.
I would suggest that you buy a repro Assembly Manual (AIM). All the connections will be illustrated.
