My 63 rear end ratio is an open 3.24.
Would it be worth the work to install a 3.08 posi, which I already have?
Also, would it require changing the trans speedometer gear? Thanks, Ed
A 3.24 ratio was not offered in 1963. Available ratios jumped from 3.08 to 3.36.
IMO the 3.08 would be a worthwhile swap if you want taller gearing and/or posi. If you want the speedo to read accurately you would also need to change the speedo driven gear in the trans.
