Ok guys. I need advice. I'm having a fuel issue with Bela. I've replaced the tank, sending unit, mech. pump, filter, and rubber lines. I've run stiff wire front to back, back to front and blown out the steel line from the tank. If I put the filter in a can of gas, runs like a champ. Will not run hooked up as it's supposed to from the tank. I'm certain I installed the sending unit correctly, I removed the mech. pump to make sure the lever was where it's supposed to be. I'm ready to replace the entire steel line if necessary and/or install an electric pump...although I'm not sure where to locate it. Please help a gal out with some suggestions of where to go from here.

If you disconnect the in line at the pump and run that into a gas can, will the car run off the portable tank? If yes, the fuel pump is good and there is something wrong in the lines back.

If you blow into the disconnected line at the tank, do you hear bubbles in the tank?

Really I only have about 1-2 gallons in the tank.I didn't want to add too much in case something went wrong. My helping neighbor did say he could hear the air on the tank side. Would it be possible there isn't enough fuel in the tank to get to the line?

That's something I haven't done. I'll try it on my lunch break.

Maybe your sending unit tube with the sock filter isn't sitting in the bottom of the tank? Check the connection of your rubber fuel lines to the steel lines to make sure there are no leaks. Are you sure your steel lines are in good shape? You can pull a vacuum on each section to check them. As previously mentioned check without the gas cap, maybe you need a vented gas cap. Is your new gas take and filler tube the same configuration as the old one? Some of them have a separate vent tube that might need to be plugged.

You should hear bubbles in the gas tank if the pickup is covered with fuel when you are blowing in from the fuel pump end. Put more gas in and retry.
