Since the govt.has decided to allow the amount of ethanol in fuel to go up,who knows how to remove it or neutralize it?
I don't want to destroy all my gasoline engines.Or,constantly rebuild carbs, replace rubber parts, etc.
Plus, regular gas seems to always be way higher than the price of ethanol gas. And,getting harder to find!
Mike.

Set up a plant in the back yard, buy in bulk, separate the ethanol and drink it?

Beats me; we've had ethanol fuel down here forever now. I don't think there's any "pure" gas anywhere near us.

Just noticed the primer bulb on my weed whacker has developed a hole dead center where you push it...

Pretty hard to avoid ethanol any more where I live. Learned the hard way that I no longer can let any gas engine set for more than a few months with gas in them. Especially during the hotter Summer months. I drain every thing with a small gas engine when I'm done with it now, especially 2 cycle engines.

That is the way the primer bulbs are built.

most reasonable lower compression car/truck engines , built in the last 30 years, can run the crappy low octane 10% ethanol laced pump swill thats sold at your local gas station.
if you have an older muscle car that had an 11:1 or higher compression engine or your running an engine like a chain saw or lawn mower that may be sitting for months between uses that ethanol laced crap is very detrimental, as it sits without any movement it tends over extended time, frames, to separated out, ethanol is hygroscopic

hy·gro·scop·ic
/ˌhīɡrəˈskäpik/Submit
adjective
(of a substance) tending to absorb moisture from the air.
relating to humidity or its measurement.
since water is heavier than gas, it settles to the bottom of the tank and in direct contact with the metal surface it can and frequently does cause corrosion issues

products like "STABILE MARINE FUEL ADDITIVE

adding 6 oz of each of these 3 products to your fresh fuel , assuming the common, (16-20 gallon tank capacity) before you put your muscle car in storage is a huge help in preventing problems from developing over a winters storage

heres a web site that lists stations that carry reasonably priced real gas with zero ethanol

I wondered about that but I've owned this thing for a couple years and don't ever recall the primer bulb getting gas on my finger before. The one on my mower doesn't have a hole...

This is 100LL (typical avgas available at all airports). It DOES contain lead and will foul most engines not designed for lead.

Been thinking about this for my "storage gas cans".

Street bikes needs their float bowls drained for winter storage because those carbs are a chore to clean. Happy I got an ultra sonic bath now, though.

I watched that video before I made this post!It was all I could find and I have some reservations about his methods.
How does he know he's getting it all out,or if it's even working?
Is there something like a ph tester I could get?
Mike.

if you don,t want alcohol content in your fuel... simply buy it from a source that sells pure 100% petroleum gas

Look at the web site pure-gas.org

I found several Murphy (Walmart) stations here in south central Texas which are noted as having ethanol-free gasoline.

Back in the old days, we used to use glycol (anti-freeze) to absorb the ethanol in gasoline.

It was a test we would perform in the dealership to see how much ethanol was in a customer's fuel. we would put a certain measure of glycol in a graduated cylinder, pour in the fuel, stir and measure the glycol level again. The difference between the first and second measurement was the amount of ethanol/alcohol in the fuel mixture.

I don't know if you could then siphon off the remaining "clean" fuel and burn it in an engine - I've never tried it, but I thought I'd throw that in there for good measure.
