Hey all,

I am yanking the engine out of my 1969 tomorrow. I have pulled the engine out of my Chevelle a dozen times over the years... but it had an automatic. I have never dealt with manual.

Are there any tips with dealing with a manual box? Should I pull the engine out with the trans? What specifically would I have to unbolt or drop there... speedo cable,...

I always pull the transmission with the engine because it's a lot easier to put the trans back on the engine when it's out of the car. The only real issue in pulling an engine out of a C3 Corvette is that most engine hoists are not long enough to reach, so you will most likely have to come in from the side. I pull one of the front tires off in order to not interfere with the hoist. Good luck.
