My project is a 1971 Base model which I'm cloning into a "71" SS like the one I have as a young man. The only difference is that this one will have a performance "454" with a 4L80E tranny and long tube headers. All that aside, I've used a 1980 Firebird front frame. So now I'm not sure on the engine mounts. Supposedly after 1971 the mounts changed to the "clamshell" type on all engines, small and big block. So should I use the 72+ clamshell mounts? And what about the headers? Should they also be for the later models? Any advice would be appreciated.

1971 Camaro Hope to make it into my 72 SS or close
