I took my steering wheel off to tighten up those Torx bolts. Took it for a ride the first time at night and found that my "brights" are on and the stem will not flex to click them off. I have to pull it apart to fix that. To ease my pain, can anybody suggest where I messed up when I put it all back together? Thanks

Unfortunately, yes. The actual dimmer switch is near the base of the column. It might be as simple as loosening the actual switch and wiggle the actuator rod to get it to seat back in the hole. Here’s a pic

Ok. we will look for that. Thanks. Can I see this switch at the base or is it in the tube? It looks like it attaches someplace with those slotted holes.

It's on the outside of the column about midway facing towards the passenger side

If it's to loud your to old

93 K1500 Z71 step side 5.7 shorty headers and 2 1/2in straight pipes. 3in body lift and leveling kit.

lucky for you it is outside the tube on the driver side.
Likely the rod got tweaked during removal and install of the column.
The holes are slotted to perform adjustment
