I am looking for a new convertible top boot - went to Restoration Parts and bought one which is actually subcontracted and made by ACME. $154.00

The boot description noted that it would have the 2 snaps on each side and a VELCRO STRIP which attaches to the top of the backseat.

It was delivered and it did not have the VELCRO STRIP sewn in, in fact it didn't come with one at all even though it was listed on the description. They told me to find a "slide rail channel" because the Velcro has been discontinued??

I found the slide rail channel ($95) and that didn't work either. Boot was too wide front to back and had a lot of slack.

Starting over - does anyone have a 1970 Impala convertible with a convertible boot that they have knowledge of where to order a boot with Velcro OR the information on the conversion to slide rail channel.

My '70 also has the velcro strip. When I redid the car I had a custom interior done. The upholstery shop used my original boot cover for a pattern and made me a new one, velcro and snaps included. Perhaps there is an auto upholstery shop near you that can simply sew on the velcro strip for you. Good luck.
