Hello All, thanks for reading my post. I've included some recent pics of my '55 Chevy Hard Top:

Currently, my bench seat that I bought on craigslist sits way too high in the car. The previous owner said he had it in his '56 Chevy. The seat backs sit about 2-3 inches above the window opening of my '55. I was at a local car show and other '55 hard tops had their bench seat back almost level with the bottom of the window opening. I need to fix this issue, and there is not enough material at the base of the seat to lower it, so I want to replace it.

Question: I want the stock seat appearance, but don't necessarily need a stock bench seat. Please provide any recommendations or experience. Thank you!

Can you take some pictures of the seat tracks, and measure them top to bottom? Let us know at what point you measured.
