We have a "How to meet your neighbor" delivery here. The mail person puts the mail in the wrong box and we then get to carry it all over the subdivision to deliver it and pick up or own mail.

My mail is always delivered correctly!
Because she lives next door. And,my box is right next to hers.
Parcel delivery is a whole nother story though! They usually get 2 out of 3 to me.Only 5 houses on my 1/4 mile long street,so how does it happen?
Mike.

Hi 2 BLu52, we have the same situation down under although it may be because we have three streets with the same or similar names.

I am in Westmere Crescent, my Electrician is the same number in Westmere Park Road, but we don't know the third party who is in Westpark Avenue.

This also catches out many trades folk and couriers who turn up at the wrong place.

I had a security consultant turn up who walked passed my shed below the house and failed to notice that the driveway lit up and he was being filmed as soon as he entered the property.

He was standing on the front porch which also has sensor lights and failed to notice there is a camera dead center in the front of the house and one over his shoulder filming him as he stood at the side of the house.

So I asked him does it look like I need a security consultant. But then I had to point out the location of the three cameras he had walked past.

I redirected him to the correct address, but quickly phoned up and suggested he could do better.

Cheers Kiwi.

PS our street has three entrances and they are all clearly and correctly signposted and our letterboxes all have numbers. I wonder what narcotic this guy was on?

Ii have lived here for 17 years, cannot count the times that I get mail with a street name not even close to mine. Often the address numbers are the same though. Many complaints over the years but no improvement. PO also approved installation of new mail box cluster with out checking the service area and two full streets in our subdivision were not included in the new boxes. 26 mile round trip to pick up mail for over a week.

Maybe this will help explain the situation and clarify a few things. Ya see the United States Postal Service is a government run entity and....

Geez, I quess that pretty well explains it.

Now with the largest stamp cost increase in history, will this spell the end?

I think it is just indicative of the way things are going in this country, sadly. Common sense is now a superpower and pride in your work has gone the way of the Dodo. Almost every person under about 40 years old is just plain lazy and apathetic about work. There are a few good ones out there, but they are as rare as woodpecker lips.

I hear you, but would add....,
IMHO
Those good ones that want the "good jobs" can't get them.
Some of the ones that are "entitled" to those "good jobs" don't appreciate them
and toss the mail by the side of the road.
