my old 67 Panel truck has seen way to many rough roads. the striker is a low as it will go and I have to put a bit of down pressure to get the driver door to close [with out slamming-which I hate]
2 questions then.
1 if I pull all 4 striker bolts out, will the threaded striker plates fall or are they captured inside the door pillar? [my 76 Suburban front door plates fall inside]
2. do you have to remove the front fender to lower the door hinges?
thanks Rod in AZ

The striker plates will fall out! I use strip caulk to hold the shims together when assembling.

I use an "S" shaped box end wrench for getting to the bolts.
