Recently our 2011 Camaro has developed a convertible top issue. It seems like the rubber gasket that holds the back side of the top has pulled up. I've done some investigating and it seems like this is an issue with the 2011-12 Camaros. In fact there is a service bulletin from Chevrolet on this issue as it also bends the #5 rib for the top.
Has anyone experienced this and has GM done any kind of a service repair on this? (I'll include a photo when I return a bit later today). Our Chevrolet dealer says yes they can fix it at $1,300+ That is not the kind of money I want to spend. The car only has a little over 30,000 miles on it and I'd like to get it fixed but $1,300+
Any info on this would be helpful. HELP!

Are you talking about the rubber that sits above the back seat windows?

I’m talking about the rubber between the bottom of the top and the rear of one car itself. Between the top and rear center stop light. See the rubber in the photo. Should be hidden under the trunk area.

Notice rubber between tan and white areas

GM had issues with the glue failing allowing the rubber to pull up on almost all year vert Camaros.

You can fix it with some of the 3M weather strip glue. The stuff is like the nastiest snot you've ever used and it's what I've heard is the approved fix from owners.
